We are a multi-award winning Craft Butcher and one of the first to receive the Certified Craft Butcher standard newly introduced by the Association of Craft Butchers of Ireland in 2012. We attained the highest score in Dublin and continue to be the leading butcher shop in Dublin with 11 gold medals and 8 silver medals. Together with 40 years’ experience, this underpins our commitment to the finest quality meats.
Our focus is on high quality products with all our produce being 100% traceable from local suppliers – from farm to fork.
The craft we employ is the traditional method of developing flavour. Our beef goes through an ageing process. Our beef is kept in a temperature controlled ageing chamber on our premises where, over 21 days, it matures, develops flavour and becomes more tender.
In addition to traditional cuts, we offer a unique experience in our own easy-cook, ready-to-eat and heat-and-eat ranges of products to cater for the modern lifestyle. Many of our products are low in fat and we have added a full range of gluten free products. We also stock complementary products to make your mealtimes a feast: sauces, pickles and condiments. Brendan Kerrigan started his butchery carear as a 15 year old apprentice.He worked his way up the ranks working in many butcher shops all over the country and in 1973 in Donaghmede Shopping Centre he opened his Butcher Shop “Kerrigan Meats”.Then Shane came on board the now family business in 1985 as an apprentice and worked hard on maintaining and expanding the business.Then Barry joined the family business in 1993 to continue in the family tradition. Over those years the business went from strength to strength.In 2007 The shop went through a massive overall which propelled us into the “Modern Age” of butchery and our new name “Kerrigans Craft Butchers” with our easy cook , ready to eat range & healthy options.We now employ over 25 people including our own dietician Harriette Lynch so we can cater for every food goal people have, may it be gluten free , low fat , high protein , low salt , low sugar we have products to suit everybody.We eventually ran out of room in Donaghmede Shopping Centre for preparation and for storage.So in 2009, we opened a second outlet in the area, our Factory Shop, where we now had the space to continue the passion we had for “old school” type of butchery which envolves full sides of beef , pork & lamb broken down into our unique style.We also opened a small retail shop as part of our factory which allowed us to offer unique deals at what we regard as the best value for money in Dublin.
In November 2012 we opened our new shopping experience in the centre of Malahide Village, offering our quality products to a wider audience. We look forward to welcoming all our new customers to the Kerrigan Craft Butcher family!

The new generation Kerrigan’s have grown up with the butchers shops in the family and are both passionate about meat, food and offering their customers the best service in a friendly atmosphere. The team are always trying to increase their knowledge on their produce and food by taking cookery courses in their spare time and trying new restaurants (a tough life!). Their dedication shines through in the sheer quality of their products and their knowledge about everything they stock. The specially trained craft butchers in Kerrigan’s will be happy to help people choose the best cuts of meat suited to the meals they are cooking and will offer tips and advice on how best to store, prepare and freeze their meat.

Kerrigan’s Craft Butchers are also always looking for innovative ways to appeal to their customers and with this in mind they will be offering butchery master classes in 2013 to help customers learn the best ways to work with meat and how to do some of the skilled butchery techniques that are not normally available to the public.
